Prenatal Yoga A yoga practice to keep your body comfortable, healthy and strong as it changes during pregnancy. Prenatal Yoga supports seasoned yoginis as well as the beginning yoga student. Bija classes teach how to safely and effectively customize your yoga practice through all stages of your pregnancy. All prenatal classes include asana, pranayama (breathing practices) and savasana (deep relaxation).
Mommy Baby Yoga (with pre-crawlers) Mommy Baby Yoga gives new parents a community of supportive practice during one of life's greatest transitions. Come stretch, strengthen and learn to realign your body while practicing with your baby. Our instructors will guide you through practice that is nurturing and challenging as well as offer instruction about using yoga to connect with your baby.
Breastfeeding Support Group Join other mothers and babies at our Thursday afternoon Breastfeeding support group. Share your experience, hear other mother's stories, get your questions answered and receive valuable information.
Baby Massage Class Parents learn how to use various infant massage strokes on their babies, borrowing from Swedish and Indian massage as well as reflexology. All strokes are demonstrated by the instructor on a doll while parents work on babies. We will discuss specific strokes to relieve colic and gas, improve digestion, help ease teething pain and aid relaxation. We will also learn fun songs to sing and baby movement games. Participants are encouraged to work at their baby's pace, and dolls will be provided if your baby's not quite in the mood!
Bija Childbirth Preparation Classes Group and Private Classes designed to empower conscious childbirth. These classes focus on the physical opening that must occur during labor and birth as well as expanding the heart and mind to more completely accommodate new life. You and your birth partner will be guided through movements, breath work, vocalization and mediation that help prepare the body and mind for labor and birth. The method combines techniques from various philosophies including Bradley, Birthing from Within, Calm Birth, meditation and yoga.
Group classes are offered as a weekend intensive or a month long evening class.
